Mental Health commonly goes unnoticed but in fact it plays a huge role in a persons day to day life. When you talk about mental health your talking about someones emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing. It determines the way someone handles stress, how well they interact with people, as well as, keep good healthy relationships with family and friends and how you behave. Having a mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of it’s more common then not and can affect anyone ranging from childhood adolescents to adulthood. 1 in 5 adults will experience one or more mental illnesses in a given year. A mental illness is described as a vast range of conditions that affect mood, thinking and behavior and they can be life long, or short term disorders. Knowing the signs, symptoms, and risk factors are crucial when trying to treat or prevent disruptions in you or someone you loves mental health.

My name is Cassie Brooks . I am a online Mental Health blogger as well as a parent to two beautiful baby girls , twins in fact . Throughout my life I have become very interested In mental health , the human brain and what makes people behave in certain ways . I also suffer from a few mental illnesses myself . Normally people tend to associate mental illness with being something bad or something that someone should be ashamed of I did for awhile . It took me a long time to actually understand and accept the fact I was living with a mental illness . I was wrong there are treatments and ways to maintain a healthy life one worth living . I thought that the illness would affect my ability to achieve my goals and dreams as well as my ability to be the very best I could be for my children . I was wrong again . My purpose is to provide information and to give a better understanding to those who may not know . The first part of acceptance is understanding and once accepted you will find it’s easier to reach out for help to get help and to maintain that healthy happy life you’ve always wanted . T
